WARREN CONNECTICUT – Toward the end of the day the sky has began to clear, but if anything the wind has increased. The gusts must be 60 or 70 miles per hour. It’s freezing cold. I ended up shooting with my Hasselblad and using the car as a tripod, shooting out the car window using a beanbag as a support. Here’s a windswept field.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – I like this time of year. The light is crisp and variable. I spent some time today in the garden, which is more interesting to me from a photographic standpoint now than it is in the warmer seasons. Here are two images – I couldn’t decide between them. If you have any thoughts let me know. Both take with my Leica M9 and a 24mm Summilux lens. I’m shooting at f1.4 with a neutral density filter to explore the out of focus regions in these images.

Out in the garden

Ornamental grasses. I guess that my attention goes to winter themes this time of year.

WARREN, CONNECTICUT – Warren’s “downtown” consists of the Rooster Tail Inn and four shops. One of the shops, Privet House, belongs to Richard Lambertson who has assembled a sensational collection of eclectic stuff. Travel and Leisure piece on downtown Warren. Anyway this is from Privet House’s substantial collection of things for dogs, Shot with my Leica M9 and my new 35mm Summicorn V. II.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – We had a very quiet day with our family, making, then eating, turkey hash. My recipe comes from the Old Drovers Inn in Duchess County New York, which was justifiably famous for it. The Old Drovers Inn is, alas, no more: RIP Old Drovers Inn.

The day started with a light rain and ground fog. I got this with my Leica and a 135mm APO-Telyt on a tripod.

WARREN, CONNECTICUT – We were plagued by another beautiful autumn day. Very hard to make good on my “no more fall foliage” pledge, but I caught a break midday, visiting the construction site of a house being built by my friend Doug Hamilton, who has a serious serial housebuilding habit. The Mustique construction gallery to the right is the result of a multi-year project documenting a house under construction by Doug in Mustique – he’s doing it again in Connecticut. Leica M9 with 15mm Voigtlander lens.

WARREN, CONNECTICUT – I’ve been meaning to try a night image of our house in Connecticut for some time. Here’s a try at it under tough conditions – a high wind made working on a tripod challenging. This is stitched from two frames. Leica M9 with a 90mm Elmarit lens.
