NEW YORK NEW YORK – I sent my Monochrom to Leica for service today – it’s been over a year and it has had some very hard use so it’s time for a CLA (clean, lubricate and adjust). I decided to buy a second Monochrom as a backup – I found a very lightly used one from a reliable dealer. The new camera arrived today so I spent an hour putting it through its paces. It’s fine.

Later in the day I caught an alley with it.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Another day of shooting with my new little 28mm f2.8 lens. To get this one I hold the camera at arm’s length above my head to see over a fence and made three shots that I stitched. A typical day.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – On the street and at the Metropolitan Museum with my Leica Monochrom and the new 28mm Elmar lens, a lens that I’ve become addicted to.

In this day last year (day 1975): Old Nikkor. Last year at this time I was experimenting with an 85mm Nikkor lens (rangefinder mount) from the mid-1950s. It’s a lovely lens and was a breakout product for Nikon. This is a different image than the one I used last year.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Feeling a bit better so I went out and about in good light with my Leica Monochrom and a new lens, the tiny and brilliant Leica Elmar f 2.8 28mm, and looked for my mojo.
