WARREN CONNECTICUT – It’s Autumn here and Fall colors are irresistible to me in black and white – I fall into this every year. Maybe not my strongest work. Today I ran into a running stream with the wrong lense (I needed wider) so I shot four frames and stitched them in Photoshop.

MANHATTAN – Today I made the trip to Wall Street to revisit the site of the images from the first day of this project, nine years and a day ago. One Chase Manhattan Plaza, the location of the Jean Dubuffet that I posted in my first post, is now called 23 Liberty Street. Sic transit gloria mundi. I explored the plaza a bit and then moved on to St. Paul’s Chapel, which is a few blocks West and North.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – This is the ninth anniversary of my one photograph every day project. The actual start date is subject to some doubt: the metadata on my first images date them October 14, 2009; my first posting dates them October 16. The post is probably correct – early on I wasn’t particularly careful about setting the correct dates in cameras because I had no idea of how hard it was going to be to keep track of the 10 – 15 thousand files a year that this project generates.

On anniversaries I usually return to Wall Street to retrace my steps on the first day. I couldn’t do that today because of other commitments at home, so I’m posting an iPhone image from our dining room. I’ll get downtown tomorrow.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I went out with my Sony A7riii today and the very good Sony 70-200mm f2.8 zoom. Optically this is a brilliant lens but its not very useful in my photo a day project. It’s gigantic, heavy, and its off white color calls attention to itself. Not a great day but the images turned out ok.

On this date five years ago (day 1461 of one photo every day): Schloss Elmau shot with my Leica M and 24mm Summilux lens, which is still in daily use.
