WARREN CONNECTICUT – I made foggy day images today. I’ve done this before but that’s only because we have a lot of foggy days here. These are taken with my Leica S2 medium format camera with a 70mm lens. Three frames stitched in Photoshop.

Day 1,548 of this ongoing project to take one picture every day for the rest of my life.

On this day one year ago: grim. Another poor day.

Wednesday January 1, 2014 New Year’s Day

WARREN CONNECTICUT – New Years Day is a quiet day. A time for reflection and list making. My resolutions this year include improving my mastery of my Twitter account and having more fun in the office. Also more time with our grandchild, Baby V, who is in the process of turning into a “who” rather than a “that” and is pretty well documented here. Anyway, I did take a picture today with my Leica Monochrom and 1958 Dual Range Summicron:

On this day one year ago: Maria grunged up. The only usable (on technical grounds) image last year was this genuinely pedestrian picture of Maria, so I resorted to trickery on my iPhone to try to make it more interesting.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – We had some friends over for dinner. Here’s an image of Aleksandra made with my Leica Monochrom and Noctilux lens by candlelight.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – We’ve been here almost two weeks – this is the longest that we’ve actually stayed in Warren in one stretch. We had large ambitions but a bad cold has laid Maria low, which is disheartening because she’s never sick. Our friend Leigh Butler paid us a visit. Here she is hiding from the me and my camera.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Well now . . . comparing this year’s picture with last year’s there seems to be a theme. It’s cold here in Warren. Especially in the winter. There’s ice everywhere. This year I shot it with my Monochrom and 24mm Summilux lens. I decided to include two of them. I have more pictures of ice available if you’re curious about the topic.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Boxing Day. A major holiday in England but not here. We’re having a Boxing Day party nonetheless for fifty or so people, so my day is packed with preparations. I don’t usually photograph at parties that we give because it interferes with interacting with guests. I caught this on the road to our house with my Leica Moncochrom and 50mm Noctilux lens.

Wednesday December 25, 2013 Christmas Day

WARREN CONNECTICUT – This is more like it. Children and grandchild have arrived so the pace has picked up. Basil the Norwich Terrier seems to be in the middle of everything, looking for food in the Christmas wrappings.
