NEW YORK NEW YORK – I stopped at the Nespresso store on Madison Avenue to buy a coffee machine and some coffee for the country. Here’s a picture taken with my Monochrom and 28mm Summicron lens.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – There’s some stuff looming on my calendar – Maria’s birthday and our anniversary fall back to back at the end of this month. I’ve tried to break the pattern of last minute shopping for gifts, so here I am hard at work shopping. Leica Monochrom and Leica 50mm Dual Range Summicron.

DERUTA ITALY – That’s right. We’ve left Switzerland. This morning we traveled by taxi from Soglia to Linate Airport (Milan’s airport for local Italian flights), rented a car and drove to Umbria, picking up our friend, Nancy Novogrod, at Linate. We stopped in this center of maiolica to buy plates and take pictures (here I’m using my Leica M9 and a 35mm Summilux lens).

NEW YORK NEW YORK – My iPhone’s capabilities as a camera continue to impress me. This little guy is always available and produces surprisingly capable results. Somewhere along the line it developed a little camera icon on the lock screen which permits you to take a picture without entering your password – a major plus for the spur of the moment shots. I spent part of the morning pressing the iPhone felt against store windows. I caught nice light in a conference room in the afternoon.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Woke up with a headache and general fuzziness. Not a supper interesting day from a visual standpoint with a high, overcast flat sky so I spend most of the day in the house laying out a new AV setup. When I took my Sony Nex-7 and a 50mm Leica Summilux to the fish trailer on 202 to buy dinner the sun cooperated with a brief breakthrough.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – This is a very busy time for me. Barely time to meet simple physical needs, let alone photograph. I did make it out to Fairway to buy groceries. Taken with m Ricoh GRD IV, my constant companion during this period. As you will see I don’t excel at “street”, even with the street shooter’s favorite camera in my hand.

Back to my self portrait series. I experimented with what I looked like at various resolutions. Here is one of the February 14, 1999 self portraits, shot on an 8×10 Arca Swiss. In this version I’ve reduced the resolution to four pixels by four pixels.
