WARREN CONNECTICUT – Marvelous light this morning with sun and fog together here. I caught this on my way to buy the paper. It’s good enough that I’m using a slightly edited version as a banner. Taken with my Leica Monochrom and Luxochrom lens.
On this day last year: Oldest Protestant Church in the New World.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – Cocktails with our friends Doug and Judy Hamilton and Pilobolus, a dance company. All taken with my Leica Monochrom and Luxochron lens.
On this day last year: Bermuda.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – We went to the opening of the New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall tonight – we saw Captain Phillips which is a sensation. Dinner before was at the Leopard, a long-time New York restaurant that has fairly recently located itself in the former Cafe des Artistes space. Still a remarkable place to enjoy a meal. Taken with my Leica Moncochrom and Luxochron lens. Two frames stitched.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I had a drive through MISERABLE TRAFFIC to drop our car off for service on the far west side (this week is the opening of the UN session which makes New York a mess), and then walked back cross town to my office. Not too much going on visually because of a high bright overcast but the sun broke through for a moment and I got this with my Leica Monochrom and Luxochron lens.
On this day last year: Bogy in my dreams.
NEW YOEK NEW YORK – We went up to Columbia this evening to see an exhibit of the work of Irini Gonou, a talented Greek artist who uses fabric and small objects and text to create pinakes (the singular is pinex- πίναξ), votive tablets used by the ancient Greeks. Very nice. I also noticed a view out a window that reminded me of one of her compositions. Both taken with my Leica Monochrom and Luxochron lens.
On this day last year: from the car.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – I walked today. First on Park Avenue where the light was doing good things with some of the Albert Paley sculpture on the islands. Then into Central Park where I fairly predictably got some mundane images – Central Park is tough. The best image that came out of walking most of the length of it was a detail that looks like a nose.
On this day last year: iPhone light.
