ANTIGUA – I’m doing further experiments with “bokeh”, the quality of the out of focus portion of a lens. The hokeh of my 50mm Leica Summicron Asp. isn’t bad at f/2.0.

ANTIGUA – We hung out on the beach today, with me scrambling a bit to find a suitable image. The first image is Maria in her natural habitat shot with my Leica Monochrom and 50mm Summicron Asp. with a neutral density filter to permit shooting wide open to isolate the foreground.

ANTIGUA – Day two in a Caribbean Paradise. I’m starting to get my photographic bearings. Still shooting with a 10mm Voigtlander super wide lens on my Leica Monochrom – still a ways to go in terms of producing interesting images.

ANTIGUA – Shaky first day here. I’m not at my best in the tropics. I’m shooting very wide (10mm) in hopes of breaking a dull routine.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – I had an extremely productive day with my Leica Monochrom and a 10mm Voigtlander lens. 10mm is as wide as it gets. I mean it’s really wide. It basically takes in everything that you see. It’s rectilinear (ass opposed to a fish-eye) which means that straight lines appear straight, but the size and shape of objects near the edge of the frame are distorted. It’s a handful to handle because it has to be absolutely level and orthogonal – otherwise the wide angle distortion produces weird images.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – More work with my drone – this time flying it inside of our barn getting an angle that I would have needed a very tall ladder to replicate.

NEW PRESTON CONNECTICUT – I went out with my drone today to photograph the falls in New Preston. This has been an elusive prey – there’s not decent angle to photograph it from the banks of the stream because of structures, trees and underbrush. But of course with a drone I could fly straight up the stream. The images are all three frames stitched.
