NEW YORK NEW YORK – I’m shooting the Monochrom at night on the street – good high ISO and good fast lenses make this possible without a tripod. Night comes early now and the light is interesting, so there is lots of opportunity. Here’s Central Park West without and with a guy walking a dog.
Day 2212 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day last year (day 1847): Noctilux image
NEW YORK NEW YORK – Many New Yorkers commute on foot. This time of year there are very long shadows in the late afternoon when people hit the streets. All images with my Leica Monochrom.
Day 2211 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day last year (day 1846): Really wide on the street.
HOPEWELL JUNCTION NEW YORK – While driving up to Pine Plains I spotted this house covered with pumpkins. Stitched from 6 frames taken with my Leica Monochrom and90mm lens. The second image is the same house, taken with a 24mm Summilux lens, two frames stitched and distortion corrected.
Day 2210 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day last year (day 1845): Francesca makes a plan. A year later she’s moved into the apartment that she was planning work on in this image.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – I shot odds and ends today – first around the house to make sure that I got an image for the day, then from an event on Canal Street. All with my Leica Monochrom.
Day 2209 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day five years ago (day 383): Monumental woman, shot with my Leica M9 and a 15mm lens. Originally in color.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – It was beautiful here today with soft light taking the edge off of the colorful Fall landscape. I took the opportunity to get close to the landscape, shooting wide with my Leica Monochrom. One technique that I’m exploring is shooting handheld in this relatively poor light at f16 to permit deep depth of field, and compensating with high ISO (2,400), which is very much against the grain for landscape, but works well with the Monochrom.
Day 2208 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day two years ago (day 1478): Late fall in CT. So . . . two years ago I was shooting very similar subject to those that I am shooting today. Not surprising given the local deciduous landscape.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – A hectic weekend of board meeting preparation. I just barely had time to get my image for the day, which is a sad, neglected-looking little thing. Even my Leica Monochrom needs a little guidance to produce a good image.
Day 2207 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day last year (day 1842): Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA. I was there for a reunion of my Marine Corps Basic School Class.
