MONTALCINO TUSCANY – We spent a pleasant morning at the Sant ‘Antimo Abbey, reputedly founded by Charlemagne in 781. The crypt (second below) is indeed very, very old.

SEGGIANO TUSCANY – We’re staying here at Castelo di Potentino, a castle from the 14th Century (or so) owned and operated as an inn by an English brother and sister team. The wines from their vineyard turn out to be quite good.
