NEW YORK NEW YORK – There are small signs of economic stress here – empty, unleaded, stores on Madison and Lexington Avenues. When I started this project seven and a half years ago we were in a major recession – today’s image brings me back full circle.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – The magic hour comes at different times of day here than in real landscape (where the magic hour is just before sunset and just after sunrise). At the classical magic hours it’s still dark at street level here. The Manhattan magic hour comes at mid morning when the sun is high enough to reflect off of buildings providing lovely dapple light. Here you go. All shot with my Leica Monochrom.
