MANHATTAN – Hudson Yards has been open for a while now but today was the first time that I’ve approached it with a camera. The large structure in the central public space, the Vessel, has been roundly criticized. It’s a massive monument to commemorate nothing. Somewhere between breathtaking and an eyesore. It’s really an expression of chutzpah, a fitting image for this city. Within a few years it will be beloved by all.

Day 3570 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.

The Vessel Hudson Yards

Om this date two yers ago (day 2840 of one photo every day): Grand Central Terminal. A view of the Western facade of Grand Central Terminal during the construction of a neighboring building. This view was short-lived – it was blocked a few months later as the new building rose above GCT’s roofline. Who knew that the Western facade is actually asymmetrical?
