NEW YORK NEW YORK – Well . . . remember those meetings that I wrote about over the weekend? They’re now. I managed to slip out for a half hour to shoot around midtown, so here you go. Nothing earth shaking here, just lucky to have some images.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Still shooting the Noctilux, mostly wide open. Today I’m out with a 1.8 neutral density filter (six f-stops of darkening) which lets me shoot wide open on this sunny day. Here we go with a fairly common subject for me, two frames stitched.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I’m still lugging around the Leica Noctilux f.95 lens. it weighs almost two pounds, more than doubling the weight of my Leica monochrome camera. Here is some architecture from the street and in image at a book party for a friend’s new novel.

On this day five years ago (day 28): Phones – old technology in Grand Central Terminal. I made a more energetic image on this spot a week later.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – Familiar ground today: the Empire State Building. I’ve been following it for years as one of the icons that I fuss with. Of course the challenge is adding anything to the state of the art and mankind’s understand given that there are thousands of iPhone photos taken of it every day (some of them very good).

On this day two years ago (day 1,122): Hay bails. Hay bails were rectangular back when I was a kid. They now have the proportions of soup cans. The march of technology.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I strapped my Carl Zeiss 16mm lens onto my Monochrome today. This sense is really wide and has major charisma. It allows me to make ok images of mundane subjects. More on lenses later this week.

BROOKLYN NEW YORK – We came here to meet with Francesca’s contractor and architect who are finally starting work on her apartment after a long delay in obtaining permits (the apartment is in a Federal brownstone in the Brooklyn Heights national historic district). Nice day.
