MANHATTAN – A moments day. I started in the morning in Boston, got an email at around 8:00 AM to the effect that our daughter (Francesca) had gone into labor, caught a 12:05 Acela to New York, and arrived at Weill Cornell Medical Center in time to meet Oliver Woodrow Pitts who was then exactly three hours old. Images below, needless to say.

TODI ITALY – Here we are in our favorite little Umbrian town at a gallery opening. Shot with the usual suspect: my only A7riii and the lovely Sony 55mm f1.8 lens, shot wide open today.

CAPRI ITALY – Random people here. I may make a new rule against taking photos of people using their smartphones (as i don’t as a general rule photograph people taking photographs).

CAPRI ITALY – We made it here after a longish day of travel. We spent two weeks here most summers when our children were younger. It hasn’t changed, except that it’s more crowded than every. The Piazzetta is one of the best people-watching spots in the world.

We plan our travel here around The Capri Literary Festival, an annual festival organized by our friends Antonio Monda and Davide Azzolini.

VENICE – As noted yesterday I’m here to catch up on the Architecture Biennale. For overnight stay’s in Venice I often treat myself to the Gritti Palace Hotel. This morning at breakfast a guy showed up with a falcon, not something you see every day. It turns out that he works for the hotel and the falcon’s job is keeping seagulls away from the Gritti’s deck.
