Bedtween MUSTIQUE and BEQUIA – We chartered a powerboat for the day to make the trip to Bequia and to do some snorkeling. My pictures from Bequia are uninspiring so I’m posting some portraits from the boat ride. I did come away from Bequia with on treasure, though: a tee shirt from the Whaleboner Bar.

Taken with my Leica Monochrom and 35mm Summilux lens.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – We had dinner at home amid preparations to hunker down for Sandy. I’m test driving an iPad app called Softbox Pro – it turns your iPad into a small softbox light source. It’s not much light so you need to tamp down ambient light and hold it close to the subject. Here I’ve asked the subject to hold it but the natural inclination is to hold it as if reading it, which results in Bride of Frankenstein lighting. Not very flattering.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I stopped at the Nespresso store on Madison Avenue to buy a coffee machine and some coffee for the country. Here’s a picture taken with my Monochrom and 28mm Summicron lens.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – A day of meetings. Here is a group of my colleagues taken with my Leica Monochrom and 28mm Summicron lens, which is ungenerous to those standing near the edge of the frame.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – A big day on the Fedex box front. MyLeica Monochrom arrived today thanks to Jeff Hirsch at Fotocare. Here are a couple of other links:
Jono Slack. Farkas Review. This is a dream come true: a digital camera that only shoots black and white. Farkas refers to it as an iconic camera. I’ll be shooting with it exclusively for the next few weeks. Also packing up some of my other gear to sell.

It will take me a while to sort out image quality on this thing – particularly at high ISO values.

Examples taken with my 35mm Summilux.
