WARREN CONNECTICUT – A full day of Thanksgiving prep. This is my favorite holiday of the year – it’s a non-commercial time for family – but since I’m the cook in the family I do feel the pressure. I managed to work with some Neapolitan Christmas ornaments that we literally have hanging around the house.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Back home at last. After an intense two weeks of travel (Tokyo, Hong Kong, San Francisco) I’m tired, out of sorts and my body clock is starting a massive rebellion. I predict a few days of mediocre images as I sort myself out.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Not a lot going on today because I’m housebound on some work projects. So . . . I put a macro adapter between my Luxochron and Monochrom and spent an hour getting close to things. It’s impossible to fail with this combination because the out-of focus character of this lens (actually a 50 mm Summicron Asp – it’s just called a Luxochron by me) is so remarkably creamy. This is the case both in front of and behind the focus plane, which is unusual.

SKYLINE DRIVE VIRGINIA – Our tourism schedule called for the Skyline Drive today – on of the great scenic routes in the country, located in the Shenandoah Mountains here in Western Virginia. There was just one unanticipated problem. Fog. Dense, can’t see the road in front of the car fog. The images are actually the best of our trip.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – This is the end of the Frankfurt Book Fair. Maria goes to this thing every year. I mean every year. Both last year and this we made plans for her to decompress post-Frankfurt so October 10 finds me at home ramping up for travel. That means still lifes and closeups around the house.

I’m experimenting with a new camera, a Leica T, which has an attractive form factor and good live view, and works well with legacy manual focus Leica lens. Today I added a close up adapter and shot around the house.

Last year I was in the same spot and shot a still life with the last tomatoes of the year from our garden.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Housebound today with my sore foot, so I’ve shot around the house using a 280mm telephoto for close-ups. Here’s a silver bowl.
