NEW YORK NEW YORK – Here we are with another 9/11 anniversary. This one went unnoticed in our lives, where there wasn’t a lot going on visually.
Day 1,792 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Another rushed day. I managed to shoot an odd angle on a food truck and a brick wall. Meh . . .

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Another disastrously rushed day. I managed to get a couple of images, including a bit of a selfie, as I walked past Citibank.
Day 1,790 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I’ve been experimenting with longer lenses recently (basically working my way through my inventory of less-used lenses), shooting a 90mm elmarit today and shooting multiple images and stitching when I want to shoot wide, which is often. The large stitches produce very detailed, lovely files.
Day 1,789 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
This one is nine frames.
On this day two years ago (day 1,059): Toss it to me!
KENT CONNECTICUT – There was a moment of lovely light in Kent Connecticut on the way to the trail head for our hike today, so a stopped and caught the local brick gothic Episcopal Church.
Day 1,788 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day last year (day 1,423): beaddboard.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – Some days I just need to fuss with my gear a bit. I just got a classic 50mm Summilux lens back from minor repairs and cleaning in Wetzlar. It’s been a while since I shot with it (I’m holding it for investment a this point) but I thought that I should shoot it side by side with my current favorite 50mm lens, the Leica 50mm Summicron Asph. Shooting a bookcase close with a distant bright background is a chance to test corner resolution, focus accuracy, contrast, tendency to veiling flair and most importantly, “bokeh”, the quality of the out-of-focus portions of the image. Here’s the image for the 50mm Summicron Asph. which wins on all counts.
Day 1,787 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day last year (day 1,422): Back lit manhole cover.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – These days dhe Park Avenue traffic islands feature installations of sculpture by Ewerdt Hilgemann, muscular constructions of stainless and rusted steel. Here’s an example.
Day 1,786 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
