WARREN CONNECTICUT – Not much going on here today – I was reduced to shooting a sunset.

Day 2592 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.

On this date eight years ago (day 670): Flatiron. I looked at the last nine years of my work on August 16; it appears that this is generally a dry spell for me. Perhaps it’s the oppressive heat, heat waves, whatever.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – More experimentation with focus stacking and HDR. These have been successful from a technical standpoint – the issue is that each image requires dozens of frames with differing exposures and focus points, shot on a tripod. The upside is that the finished product has mored depth of focus and greater dynamic range than is possible with a single image. On a tripod my work tends to be static and dull so these techniques are tools for me but aren’t for every day use.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – This weekend I’m experimenting with focus stacking, a technique that involves multiple images taken at slight different focus points, that a combined by specialized software into an image that has greater depth of field than a single image could. Here’s my first effort.
