WARREN CONNECTICUT – I was out with my drone today. There was enough wind that drone navigation was marginal so I kept it close to home.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Nice late afternoon light in our living room here. Shot with the same setup that I’ve been using for the last few days: my Sony A7riii with the Sony 24-70mm zoom, here used at the wide end of the range. Image sharpness is ok and flair resistance in this challenging back-lit situation is very good, especially for a zoom. The sunstar is pretty good.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Poor weather for people. Good weather for photographs. Shot with my Sony a7Riii and 24-70 zoom. Still trying to work with this lens in a landscape setting. It’s only ok.

MANHATTAN – I walked around midtown west today, between Sixth Avenue and Hell’s Kitchen. Typical stuff but not bad. Shot with my Sony A7riii and Sony’s pretty good 24 – 70 zoom lens The question is whether this lens (or any zoom) is up to the corner-to-corner fussiness that I bring to this project. (Using a single lens in this focal length range would be really convenient for me.) The answer appears to be “almost” but not with a lot of headroom. I’m still working on it.

On this date five years ago (day 1478 of one photo every day): Fall color in black and white. I shot this image with my Leica S medium format camera which was plenty of camera to stand up to my fussy technique but had some quality control issues and was large for a carry around camera. I like this image’s muted palette.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Another day around home. Based on some critical feedback from folks who are following me I’ve decided that my ocaisional close-ups of objects around home are a fruitful thread for further exploration.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I wandered the Upper West Side today with my Sony A7riii and the well-thought-of 24-90 native Sony zoom. I usually don’t like zooms but this one performs well. The real issue with it is that it’s Bokeh (the quality of the out of focus parts of images) is “edgy”, which I don’t like at all – I prefer “creamy.”
