MILAN ITALY – We’re staying here with friends who own the Villa Rustici – a penthouse of a 1933 bauhaus-style monument. From an architectural guide to Milan:

In 1935, Giuseppe Terragni and Pietro Lingeri realize a building, Casa Rustici, which certainly represented a significant leap forward in terms of architectural solutions, but not only. Two buildings rise in parallel, united by catwalk balconies that create a virtual facade. We must not forget that we are talking about a building that is 75 years old . . . At the top level it is a space that is noted for its size – it covers the footprint of both buildings – and for the refinement of its details; it is often often called “villa”.

Day 2081 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
