NEW YORK NEW YORK – This is a visually interesting day. Very clear and extremely cold, after a rain last night, which means there is ice in unexpected places. Here’s Citigroup through a sheet of ice.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – A major cold rainy day. More ugly weather. I shot out our window with a long lens. This is two frames stitched taken with a 135mm lens.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – A pretty mundane iPhone shot out my window. This sort of thing usually doesn’t work – I had to remove some reflections in Photoshop. Later in the day an image in severe back lighting with my Leica Monochrom.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Home again. I walk everywhere here, combining exercise with a fairly efficient mode of transportation. I caught a classic view of the new World Trade Center handheld with my Leica Monochrom. This may be my favorite image of recent weeks.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – A beautiful, clear, but very cold day. A nice day to photograph Manhattan and get numb fingers and toes in the process. I’m continuing to work well in black and white – the photo-a-day-for-the-rest-of-my-life project has really helped me achieve greater clarity and consistency in my work. Still relying on the Leica Monochrom as my primary camera.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Here we are. On Manhattan. Working. Like everyone else here. Captured Lever House, one of my favorite corners in New York, on my way home from dinner. Ditto a more intimate view of the Seagrams Building. Shooting my Leica Monochrom with the ISO cranked up a bit to permit hand-holding at night. Two frames stitched in the case of Lever House.
