NEW YORK NEW YORK – Suffering from the “blahs” today. I’ve been shooting the back door spaces behind buildings without great success. Here is one from today. I think I need to bear down and really work on this thread.

PARIS – Last full day here. I walked through the Place de la Concord and across the Seine looking to end up at the Musée d’Orsay, one of my favorite places here. In the end it was too nice a day to spend any portion of it inside so I just walked, and brought home a bunch of touristy-looking images. The hazard of perfect weather.
Day 2,000 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life. That’s right. 2,000 days without a miss. We’re breaking out Champaign here.

PARIS FRANCE – We arrived here this morning for the long Easter weekend. We hit the ground running spending the morning around the Place de la Concorde. Pretty touristy stuff.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Heading off for Paris this evening. I caught this typical (for me) street scene while running around preparing for the trip.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – The Villard House on Madison Avenue was built in the late 1880s by McKim Mead & White for the president of the Northern Pacific Railroad. It was subsequently owned by Random House and the Catholic archdiocese of New York; it’s now the Palace Hotel with the attached Emery Roth designed ugly monolith.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I’m deliriously happy being back in New York where there is some visual content to life. I wandered around the Second Avenue Subway construction today, where the work now seems to be focused on relocating the water, power, septic and other infrastructure displaced by the subway line.
