WARREN CONNECTICUT – A perfect early Autumn day. Visually I thrive in sunlight. Here we go with my Leica M and a 35mm Summilux Asph. lens. I’m taking a short break from the Luxochron.

On this day last year: Happy Birthday Maria.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Are you kidding. It’s Friday the thirteenth. I got some nice images today shopping for an anniversary present, but can’t post them because this will go up before our anniversary and Maria may check into this site. I’ll edit this post anniversary. Here are a couple from a walk about in midtown with my Leica M and Luxochron lens, converted to black and white.

On this day one year ago: Blah. Shooting film on this day last year, proving that you can still make boring images with film.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – From the lobby of 919 Third Avenue with my Leica M, converted to black and white after the fact.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I tried something different today: shooting in color. I took my Leica M and Luxochron lens out for a walk around Manhattan. (“Luxochron”, by the way, is my name for my Leica 50mm Summicroh Asph. lens, which is said to be the most perfectly corrected normal lens for any camera ever and is priced accordingly.) But guess what? Most of the images that I found today look better in black and white so I converted them. Here’s an example with some high key lighting.

On this day last year: John Chamberlain sculpture.
New York New York – housebound today preparing for client meetings. This is out the window into our building’s courtyard with my Leica Monochrom and Luxochron. Two frames stitched.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – This is officially a recovery day from the tooth crisis. Walking down Lexington Avenue I tripped on a bit of construction on the sidewalk and fell flat on my face. Still unsteady from having the tooth from hell dug out of my jaw. My Leica M ended up with a minor ding but there appears to be no damage. This is the first day out in several days. Inspiration is thin on the ground but at leas here’s picture of the Frick Museum, three frames stitched with my Leica Monochrom. I’m hopeful that we’ll begin to see some ok photographs. This is not much of an image but at least I’m out of the house shooting.

On this day last year: Laura.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Day four in a long weekend of rain and fog. And of course the toothache from hell. I’m abusing Tylenol to be able take pictures at all. My liver hates me.
I’ve moved to color today – rain and fog can actually yield lovely saturated hues. I’ve swapped my Leica Monochrom for a Leica M. Still shooting through the Luxochron: the 50mm APO Summichron Asph. Somehow I made a couple of images. I didn’t go very far.
