WARREN CONNECTICUT – We returned to Connecticut after our week in Antigua (and a day in New York) to find 30 inches or so of snow – much of it piled in much deeper drifts.

This is day 1,577 of my ongoing project: One photograph a day for the rest of my life.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I walked to the office this morning with my Leica M and a 50mm Summicron Asp. lens. I work more in black and white than color. Surveying my posts for the past four plus years about two thirds have been black and white. Of course shooting with a camera with color capability I can always convert to black and white which I’ve done with three of the four images below. The first is three frames stitched and perspective corrected in Photoshop.

This is day 1,576 of my one photograph a day for the rest of my life effort.

ANTIGUA – I took a walk on the beach with my Leica Monochrom and 50mm lens. The actual picture that presented itself was a very large cloud that demanded very wide angle, so I shot 12 overlapping frames and stitched them together. It actually worked. I shot very, very quickly because my experience suggests that the movement of the surf from shot to shot can make it very hard to stitch. Here it is. This is a very high resolution file that could be printed to billboard size.

ANTIGUA – Still here. Slogging away at relaxing on the beach. If you know of another daily photo shooter who does a better job with the tropics send me a link.

ANTIGUA – We went to Half-Moon Bay this afternoon. This gave me an opportunity to explore the ruins of a hotel that was abandoned after it sustained major hurricane damage. A bit later, walking down some steps, I heard a periodic clicking. It was the sugger, clicking as the camera bounced against my body. This is an example of what I call a “purse shot” after purse dialed calls – calls that are made by a mobile phone as it bounces around someone’s purse.

1,573 days of daily posting a picture for as long as I live.

ANTIGUA – I packed a light tripod in my checked bag. I took it out in twilight this evening and set it up in the surf and took multiple long exposures, which I stacked in Photoshop to the following effect.

ENGLISH HARBOR ANTIGUA – Maria spent the morning on a couple of dives from here so I had a chance to walk around and absorb some tourist color at Nelson’s dockyard. This was the home of the British fleet in the Caribbean in the 18th century. Nice Georgian architecture and some good local faces. Here’s Maria’s scuba instructor and a guy who has just arrived with three teammates from having rowed here across the Atlantic from the Canary Islands in a specially built boat in 59 days. Quite a feat. I’m also providing a sample of Georgian buildings.

Day 1,571 of one photo every day for the rest of my life. I didn’t managed to get it down to one images today. What I really mean is at least one photo every day.
