TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS – A very active day. Maria did two dives; I rode out on the dive boat and snorkeled. When we got back I had a long walk on the beach – Im on a program of walking at least seven miles a day (14,000 steps on my fitbit). We caught a sunset. Here you go:

TURKS AND CAICOS – This was a day to get close and wide and monochrome on the beach. Nothing transformational here, but fun. Taken with my Leica Monchrom.

Plus a bonus pinhole image.

TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS – Still here. You may remember that I’m not much good in to tropics. To colorful and nice. I usually work against the grain by shooting in black and white with my Leica Monochrom. Today I shot color but with a pinhole “lens”. The first three are pinholes. Then regular black and white taken at “Mr. Groupers”, a roadside eating establishment.

Day 1,600 of one photo a day for the rest of my life. Days with two zeros on the end always seem like they should be landmarks but this really didn’t feel different from any other day.

TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS – We arrived here yesterday afternoon for a week of relief from the Northeast’s savage winter. The most populous island in this little archipelago country is called Providenciales, or “Provo” by initiates. Lovely beach. Kind of built up. As usual I’m shooting B&W in the tropics – against the colorful grain.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – A beautiful, clear, but very cold day. A nice day to photograph Manhattan and get numb fingers and toes in the process. I’m continuing to work well in black and white – the photo-a-day-for-the-rest-of-my-life project has really helped me achieve greater clarity and consistency in my work. Still relying on the Leica Monochrom as my primary camera.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Here we are. On Manhattan. Working. Like everyone else here. Captured Lever House, one of my favorite corners in New York, on my way home from dinner. Ditto a more intimate view of the Seagrams Building. Shooting my Leica Monochrom with the ISO cranked up a bit to permit hand-holding at night. Two frames stitched in the case of Lever House.
