WARREN CONNECTICUT – Soe here I am experimenting with a Leica APO-Telyt 135mm lens. This lens has a legendary look and strong performance but it is the devil to use on a digital Leica M because the depth of focus is so thin and the 135mm frame in the rangefinder are small. I’ve put a 1.4x magnifier on the viewfinder and I’ve been practicing all day with focus, until I think I have it. Both images below are two frames stitched.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I found myself in an area on the far West Side of Manhattan that used to be called Hell’s Kitchen, did time as home for auto showrooms and repair shops, and is now morphing into a modern, densely packed residential area. Here’s an image of some construction in progress. The Manhattan apartment retail market is very tight for renters, but as all this space hits the market should we expect a bust?

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I’ve been experimenting with longer lenses recently (basically working my way through my inventory of less-used lenses), shooting a 90mm elmarit today and shooting multiple images and stitching when I want to shoot wide, which is often. The large stitches produce very detailed, lovely files.

KENT CONNECTICUT – There was a moment of lovely light in Kent Connecticut on the way to the trail head for our hike today, so a stopped and caught the local brick gothic Episcopal Church.
