NEW YORK NEW YORK – A major cold rainy day. More ugly weather. I shot out our window with a long lens. This is two frames stitched taken with a 135mm lens.

Day 1,609 of one photo every day for the rest of my life.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Home again. I walk everywhere here, combining exercise with a fairly efficient mode of transportation. I caught a classic view of the new World Trade Center handheld with my Leica Monochrom. This may be my favorite image of recent weeks.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Here we are. On Manhattan. Working. Like everyone else here. Captured Lever House, one of my favorite corners in New York, on my way home from dinner. Ditto a more intimate view of the Seagrams Building. Shooting my Leica Monochrom with the ISO cranked up a bit to permit hand-holding at night. Two frames stitched in the case of Lever House.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Alexander and I went to a Rangers game. Surprisingly sporting events are not really good venues for me to photograph. There’s not a lot of landscape at a hockey game. So I snapped off a six frame stitch of 30 Rockefeller Plaza on my way walking to Madison Square Garden. Taken with my Leica Monochrom and 75mm Summicron lens.

Sunday January 5, 2014

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I shot this afternoon with a long lens. This usually doesn’t work for me – I see best with a wide angle in my hands. The lens is a 280mm Leica R with a Leica 2s tele-extender. These are out my window in the early evening. The last image required hand stacking two images to get shadow detail in the brick.

I’ve done a careful recount of total days on this project without a missed day. I’m going to start posting the running total daily. Here you go

Wednesday March 6, 2013

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Not much going on today visually in my life. Walking home from the office I worked on generating some abstractions from Bloomingdale’s facade. Taken with my Leica Monochrom and 1945 50mm f1.5 Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar lens. The out of focus points of light are rendered by the Sonnar as little doughnuts. I’m not certain why.

On this day last year: I can shoot in color. I just don’t do it that often.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Still shooting the 24mm Summichron on my Leica Monochrom. Here I’m experimenting with hand holding it in cloud-obscured moonlight at ISO 10,000.
