WARREN CONNECTICUT – Look’s like I’m officially giving the Luxochron a rest (remember “Luxochron” is my name for my Leica 50mm Summichron Asph. lens). Slightly wider today with my 35mm Summilux Asph. lens on my Leica M. I’m shooting with a three stop neutral density filter so I can shoot wide open (at f1.4) in daylight, which permits throwing backgrounds way out of focus but demands very accurate focus of the main subject. Here you go:

On this day last year: Early days with the Monochrom. It’s hard to believe that my Leica Monochrom is just a year old. It was a life changer.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Day four in a long weekend of rain and fog. And of course the toothache from hell. I’m abusing Tylenol to be able take pictures at all. My liver hates me.

I’ve moved to color today – rain and fog can actually yield lovely saturated hues. I’ve swapped my Leica Monochrom for a Leica M. Still shooting through the Luxochron: the 50mm APO Summichron Asph. Somehow I made a couple of images. I didn’t go very far.

NEW PRESTON CONNECTICUT – I stopped the New Preston Congregational Church on my Sunday morning newspaper run. This is not a new subject for me but this time I took in some details with my Leica S2 medium format camera. On reflection the angel is not a great work of art – the face lacks the plasticity that a talented sculptor can provide – but hey, who doesn’t like an angel.
