WARREN CONNECTICUT – A rainy day. I guess this is what we’ve been saving for. Out with my Monochrom and 18mm lens catching rain and fog with a wide lens. Visually it’s hard to make headway against the sameness of days like this. Here are three tries:

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Here are three “prints” of the same image taken with my Leica S2 medium format camera. The first version is as it comes from the camera, that is in fairly attractive color. The second is how I saw it when I shot it. Not literally in black and white but with the red leaves standing out as if they were brighter than the rest of the scene. And finally an alternative interpretation reading the read leaves as dark. I prefer the second version.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Here’s a gallery of Fall color images. It’s Sunday so we’re going back to the city and by the time we’re back here next weekend the leaves will be gone. So with any luck you won’t have to put up with oranges, yellows and reds much longer. Fall is almost over. I promise to get back into my monochromatic groove once the weather turns ugly. All images with my Leica S2 medium format camera and a 70mm or 24mm lens. This thing is irresistible this time of year.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – I drove up here this morning – my first time in Connecticut in over a month (apart from a flash trip to fetch Basil). Boy do I need this. I missed the most beautiful month of October in New England history, and arrive here today a driving rain. That’s the first image. Oh well. It cleared up later so I caught up with the end of the fall color. All taken with my medium format Leica S2.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Our lovely warm Autumn has permitted the begonias on the Park Avenue islands to grow longer and larger than I’ve ever seen them before – they are actually chest high. Taken with my Sony RX100 II, which I’m still carrying around after last night. Kind of a mundane image but keeps the photo a day thing alive.

SCHLOSS ELMAU GERMANY – Today was one of those better days. I switched equipment to shake myself out of yesterday’s doldrums. I gave color a try in the morning shooting with my Leica M and the lovely 24mm Summilux lens. Some of my best color for a while.
