16 years of one photograph every day for the rest of my life

For over sixteen years I have taken at least one photograph every day. Without missing a day. Ever.

I post photographs to this site and to my social media feeds when I have time, typically a week or two after the image is captured. Postings here and to social media are lumpy, but I do actually photograph every day, and I will continue this project for the rest of my life. Sometimes I get behind in posting; I never get behind in photographing.

For each day I include a look back to the same day in some past year - otherwise past images would be lost forever. On social media I post both current images and images looking back to the same day in earlier years, which is visually fine but can seem confusing.

I started this project on October 16, 2009 and have posted a picture taken each day without a miss. This blog is my primary tool for documenting this project.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – I play poker with a group of old friends on a roughly quarterly basis. This was the night. No pictures of the game – what happens there stays there. But here’s the view from the terrace of our host.

ROUTE 202 IN NEW MILFORD, CONNECTICUT – Farmstand.  This was late in the day; I slept poorly the night before so I lost the morning light.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Up early for a lovely sunrise.  We’ve controlled the underbrush in a wooded area to create a park-like setting.  The over-the-top colors are  . . . well . . . what it looked like.  Image taken with a Leica M9 and 24mm Summilux – three images stitched.
