WARREN CONNECTICUT – I was bored and hard-pressed for subjects today so I shot some stone steps.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – I cooked all day today. We’re expecting 10 people for dnner.  I spent a decade as board chair of the James Beard Foundation so I’m a foodie and feel that guests expect me to prepare food for them. Here’s my mise en place for caviar and blini. Shot with my iPhone 16 which is actually the best tool for this sort of thing.

Day 6,116 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.

Looking back 13 years to Maria in Milan at La Scala. Shot with my phone (which is acting like it’s a Hasselblad) – it’s uncomfortable bringing a real camera into a performing venue like La Scala. Day 1,368 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – More work close up. Today I mounted the 1958 50mm dual range Summicron on a variable extension ring designed for the Leica 90mm macro. Using live view I was able to focus and frame successfully. So here’s a leaf that required three frames of exposures, which I stitched in post. Working hand held. I’m getting good at this. The lens is a truly remarkable antique.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Here’s a barrel that we used as an incinerator during Covid when trash collection was spotty.  Virginia creeper is pretty robust.
