BETWEEN SCUOL AND GUARDA, SWITZERLAND – A day of practicing yodeling. Actually not really, I can’t sing at all. We hiked for a bit, took a chairlift to gain some altitude then set off on a serious hike. We typically cover 8 to 15 miles in a day. Our sensational guide, Ken Fuhrer, does a great job of assessing what we can do and then pressing us for just a bit more.

Bunches of pictures – once posted I’ll come back to try to edit these down a bit. All taken with my Leica M9.

SCUOL SWITZERLAND – We’ve at last gotten somewhere, actually somewhere spectacular, after a long day of airplanes and trains. Scuol is the first stop on our week-long trekking adventure, organized by Ryder Walker. The concept is as follows; we hike from town to town through the mountains above the Engadine Valley, with our luggage sent ahead of us each day to our new stopping point. We’ll start tomorrow from here, which is our first of many perfect Swiss villages. I’m traveling with my Leica kit, using my Sony Nex-7 as a backup. These with my M9 and 35mm Summilux lens.

We’ve gotten lucky – there are wildflowers here in riotous profusion:

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Packing for a trip to Europe. This one is a challenge. Hiking in Switzerland, followed by a wedding in Todi and then work in Milan. Anyway, here’s Maria toward the end of the process relaxing with her email. Taken with my iPhone.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – On the prowl with my Alpa TC and 47mm Schneider lens. Here’s a look at the Apex Trade School – a building that doesn’t seem to have gotten the e-mail about this neighborhood’s transformation. I’m guessing that this food cart is where the students get lunch.

BEDFORD NEW YORK – We drove up here for a lunch of rabbit, polenta and designer carrots, and some terrific wines. Taken with my Sony Nex-7 and 24mm Leica Summilux lens.

On the say home we passed an abandoned bus garage as the evening magic hour light started to emerge. I’ve learned to stop and shoot whatever is at hand when there is good light. Taken with the same camera and lens, two frames stitched.

Saturday June 16, 2012 (Fathers Day)

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Yes, it’s Fathers Day. Originally conceived of as a way for greeting card publishers to scam the public I’ve taken on the task of marketing my family on the concept that Fathers Day is the most important holiday on the calendar. Our adult (really) children organized lunch at Balthazar. Maria and Francesca were the first to arrive. Here they are taken with my Sony Nex-7 and Leica 24mm Summilux lens.
