WARREN CONNECTICUT – A big rock near our place here, shot with my Sony A7rii and a Zeiss f1.8 85mm lens, which has lovely bokeh.. Four frames stitched and translated to black and white.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Really nice light on the North wall of PJ Clarke’s. I shot this with my Sony A7Rii and translated to black and white. In the translation I was able to adjust gray values to bring out old lettering on the wall that I hadn’t actually seen while snapping the image – in this one respect translating from color is superior to the native black and white that I get from my Leica Monochrom.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – A Manhattan miscellany. The third image is the ribs that I started yesterday cooking in sous Vide water baths. They will cook at 142 degrees C for 36 hours, and finished on a Green Egg on Friday. Shot with my Leica Monochrom.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I spent today preparing baby back ribs for cooking sous vide (they will be finished on a Green Egg in Connecticut on Thursday). The first steps are to remove the membrane, apply a rub to impart BBQ flavor, and vacuum pack the ribs to let them “marinate” in the fridge for 24 hours – the but also acts as a dry brine.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Two frontal houses today – one from here today and one from Avignon two years ago. The former image received an assist from my drone.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – I’ve working at flying my drone. We have two reservoirs near us (the upper and lower Shepaug reservoirs) that are terra incognito – all of the potential access points are marked no trespassing and there are no trails. They are at the limit of drone range. Because of the hills contact with the drone is iffy. I’ve been working on reaching the reservoirs with enough battery life to linger and photograph, without loosing the drone, and exploring the best times of day and lighting conditions. Here’s the lower Shepaug reservoir from today.
