MANHATTAN – A meh image from Lexington Avenue and 52nd Street. I’ve been here before.
Day 3219 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this date five years ago (day 1393 of one photo every day): Cameras. A portion of my camera collection from five years ago. I don’t own any of these cameras today.
MANHATTAN – A major thunder storm turned the usually pedestrian view out my dining room window into magic. I tried to catch a lightning strike but missed them all.
Day 3218 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this date four years ago (day 1757 of one photo every day): Brooklyn steps
MANHATTAN – I had an active day of walking around Foley Square and the financial district in good urban light with my Sony A7riii and the Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 GM lens. It’s not my style to shoot zooms because they never perform at the same level as the best primes, and they are large and heavy. But this one is good. Corner to corner stitches with the lovely Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 are better, but you can’t reliably stitch in many situations. This lens is a keeper.
I’m running through my inventory of Sony E-mount lenses to decide which are keepers – this one clearly is.
Day 3217 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day three years ago (day 2121 of one photo every day): Melancholy day
MORRIS CONNECTICUT – I made the short drive over here to Towne Farm to pick up some corn. A guy on the same mission arrived in a perfectly restored candy apple red 1965 AC Cobra 427, autographed on the dashboard and offside wing window by Carroll Shelby. This is the S/C version of this car – it’s so noisy that I’m certain it’s not street legal in New York. I was star struck and managed only so-so photos. This model typically sells for well into seven figures.
Day 3216 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this date last year (day 2851 of one photo every day): GoPro in Maui
WARREN CONNECTICUT – More work around here today fussing with lenses. I set the Sony A7riii up on a tripod today and shot a few angles around our small barn with multiple lenses and apertures trying to isolate what works best with my style with this camera.
Day 3215 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
MANHATTAN – Shooting at home testing the “bokeh” of two new lenses (bokeh is that character of the out of focus portions of the image): the Sony 85mm f1.4 GM and the Sony 35mm f1.4 ZA. Both lenses are massive, but very, very good and have, as you will see below, pleasing bokeh.
Day 3213 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this date four years ago (day 1752 of one photo every day): Photo shoot
