Thursday November 22, 2018 Thanksgiving

WARREN CONNECTICUT – thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Not commercial and a chance to get together with family and be . . . thankful.

We’re thankful for Oliver and Derek, among many, many other things.

Day 3325 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.

On this date six years ago (day 1134 of one photo every day): Mustique shot with my Leica Monochrom and Leica 35mm Summilux lens, two frames stitched (which I re-did this year with a fair amount of hand spotting).

WARREN CONNECTICUT – We’ve been collecting plates for a long time. Every time we travel anywhere we try to bring a plate back. Our children made plates for us when they were in school. The whole collection is hung on the soffits of your dining area and family room here. Some samples below.

MANHATTAN – We met some friends for a meeting at the Explorers Club. Shot in terrible light with my Sony A7riii which works well in conditions like these.

On this date nine years ago (day 35 of one photo every day): Old Technology. Shot in Grand Central Terminal nine years ago with a Leica M9 and 35mm pre-Asph Summicron lens, version IV, the so-called “Bokeh king”. In the end I decided that I didn’t actually care for the Bokeh (the character of the out of focus portions of the image) of this lens and sold it.

MANHATTAN – This morning I did a review of my work for the past few years and decided that I like the angular perspectives a lot, so I’ll be capturing them when I see them for the next few weeks. Shot with my Leica M10-P.

On this date two years ago (day 2589 of one photo every day): Big Rock Boston MA shot with my Sony A7rii and lovely 25mm Zeiss Batis lens. The fact that it’s fall and I’ve used yellow filtration in converting to black and white gives this image an infrared look. Compare my post of a big rock in Warren CT of two years ago: Big Rock Warren CT.
