SAIGON – This sprawling city is officially “Ho Chi Minh City”, but most people call it “Saigon”. A trio for today – I had trouble editing down to one image.

Looking back six years to winter in Warren CT. Day 3708 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
HANOI – On a walk-about we ran into a bride at a local shrine.

Looking back one year to Manhattan. McSorley’s is overrun with tourists. Sort of the Trevi Fountain of NY. Day 5534 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
THE GULF OF TONKIN – We spent a day on a boat here. The landscape (seascape?) is dominated by large karsts projecting out of the water. A confluence of factors, too many other large boats and too clear weather, made it hard to capture a classic view of the karsts. So here a non-classic view of them, and a fish firm.

Looking back 12 years to the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center. Day 1515 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
HANOI – The highlight of the day was a longish ride in motorcycle side-cars through the old city of Hanoi. Not much cultural. The ratio of scooters and small motorcycles to population here seems like it roughly 1:1. Again we’ve planned a very easy day as a jet lag transition. Here’s Maria.

Looking back three years to a remarkable indigo dyer outside of Kyoto. Day 4,800 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
HANOI, VIETNAM – Long trips westward crossing the date line are a challenge in the photo-a-day world. You loose a day when you cross the dateline. I managed to get this right, by shooting with my phone and relying on it’s clock to have the correct date and time. This is the bedside clock in our hotel, the last thing that I saw after collaping into bed at the end of a 22 hour journey here, via Tokyo.

Looking back exactly two years to Havana. We went to Havana with a group of artists on a trip organized by The Foundation for a Civil Society through our friend Wendy Luers, who has a large print of this image. Day 5,163 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
