Looking back 11 years to Manhattan. One of the themes that I find myself gravitating to in Manhattan is the tenacity of plant life. Day 1,830 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
MANHATTAN – A look up at reflections today. With these I’m trying to capture the modernist vibe of photos of Manhattan from the 1930s.
Day 5,846 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
Look up
Looking back ten years to another look up in Manhattan. I do this a lot. In this case I was exploring the shadows. Day 2,193 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – Today is the 16th anniversary of my photo-a-day project.
I decided to celebrate with an homage to Josef Sudek (1896–1976), known as “the poet of Prague,” who created images from objects such a crumpled paper in his studio, using whatever limited photo materials he could scrounge in Communist Czechoslovakia to produce images. So . . . I collected a bunch of paper and crumpled it. Like disciplines such a dribble painting, it’s much harder than it looks to produce interesting results. Here’s my favorite of the bunch.

Looking back exactly 16 years to what used to be called One Chase Manhattan Plaza. Day 1 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
Day 5,844 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
Lunch
Looking back exactly 11 years to a junk shop in rural Virginia. I bought the cast iron dutch oven, lower right of center, and it’s still in daily use. Day 1,826 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
