NEW YORK NEW YORK – I’m shooting film on days when I envision having enough time to work developing and scanning into my normal workflow. This was one of those days. I’m shooting here with a Mamiya 7 with a 43mm lens – it’s a remarkable combination.

Day 2,940 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Another day and another vacant lot (there seem to be future construction sites here everywhere) and a pseudo-alley.  I’m in a bit of a rut.  I’ll be shooting film tomorrow to try to shake things up a bit.

BROOKLYN NEW YORK – I took the Q Train to the end of the line today and explored Brighton Beach on foot with film (!). I’m shooting Tri-X in a Leica M7 with vintage lenses, including version 1 of the 35mm Summicron (from the late 1950s). Overall a good day.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I walked around midtown with a new lens today, the wonderful Leica 90mm f4.0 macro. It’s light and compact and a sensational performer. It’s not my most used focal length so I found myself stitching to achieve my normal point of view.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Vacant lot at Fifth Avenue and 43rd Street. Shot with my Leica Monochrom and 50mm Summicron ASPH lens (the so-called “luxochron”).

Day 2,932 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.

Vacant Lot, Fifth Avenue

October 25 has been a very good date for my photo project for the last eight years – there are images that I like every year so I had trouble making a selection. I finally settled on an abstraction from this date last year (day 2,567), and abstraction in Brittany: Brittany.
