LITCHFIELD CONNECTICUT – I’m here in the freezing cold picking up dry cleaning. Still shooting with my Ricoh GRD.

Day 5,961 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.

Litchfield CT. Former train station.

Looking back 17 years to a dinner party in New York. Eight months before the start of my one photograph every day project.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – I often drive on Jack Corner Road here, hoping for good light or some other redeeming visual phenomenon.  Today and 15 years ago are both at the intersection of Jack Corner Road and Rabbit Hill Road (home for us).

Today I’m shooting with my tiny Ricoh GRD IIIx, a tiny, pocketable camera that has full real camera controls and produces plausible real camera results.

Nutmeg Acres

Looking back to Warren CT on this day exactly 15 years ago. This the same orchard depicted in the 2026 image above, but from a different angle. Not much changes in winter in rural New England.  The silo on the center right of the image has been taken down.   Day 481 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Today’s “feels like” temperature, in the middle of the afternoon, was -26º F. Really.  I started to venture out into it, but only got as far as the garage.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – The Congregational Meeting House here. Built between 1818 and 1820 as a replacement for an earlier 1769 meetinghouse. The congregations dates to 1750 or so. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places due to its architectural significance and historic character.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Driven indoors by cold weather. Here’s an onion, photographed with my lovely APO Summicron 90mm lens – the perfect lens for a portrait – and an extension tube. All of my work is hand-held. When I use a tripod my work ends up feeling academic. So I really depend on my camera’s high ISO settings to give me headroom on focus and shutter spead.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Today we have an image found outside near our house. This is a path made so that our propane supplier can reach out tank.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Another day of near-zero weather here, so I looked up inside at home.  (You may remember that in New York and in the wild I look up often.)
