BANGKOK – In the old city here the infrastructure consists of dense, tangled, complex overhead wiring. I explored it a bit, producing nothing brilliant, but here’s a sample. At a gallery later in the day we encountered a pointing that incorporated the overhead wiring theme.

BANGKOK – We spent a substantial part of the day at the Museum of Contemporary Art here, a large private museum founded by Boonchai Bencharongkul. Here’s Maria chilling.  And here’s a stairway with a man obviously posing for the photographer (me).

BANGKOK – We visited Wat Pho here today, a major Buddhist center, and site of the a famous 150 foot-long reclining Buddha. I’m traveling with a single lens on my Leica Monochrom: the standard 50mm Summicron. From the best vantage point the Buddha’s head is very large and very close, so to get this image I stitched 7 frames.

Wat Pho is very large and very crowded.

LUANG PRABANG LAOS – We attended a ceremony here today. Strings were tied around our wrists (I’m still wearing mine) in a ceremony that hopefully brings good luck.

SIEM REAP CAMBODIA – The central purpose of this trip was to see Angkor Wat, so here we are, having arrived before sunrise. The site is quite crowded although our guide told us that by Angkor Wat standards the crowd was modest. Here’s a picture of the final ascent to the high point of the structure, a climb that I didn’t attempt given my agraphobia.

SEIM REAP – We’ve come here to see Angkor Wat, but our experience in some of lesser-known temples, such as Angkor Thom, is vastly better because of the crowds and Angkor Wat.
