NEW YORK NEW YORK – On the street with my Monochrom and 5cm Nikkor from the mid-1950s. Later at a dinner at the Union League Club for Robin Dresser who received the Maxwell Perkins Award with my Leica Monochrom and 35mm Summicron lens.

On this day last year: Subway steps.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I went out today in midtown with my Leica M (which unlike my Monochrom actually takes color pictures) and the 1937 vintage 8.5cm Carl Zeiss Jena lens that I wrote about yesterday. It produces muscular results. Very nice. Here is a typical (for me) shot around Citicorp Center and a wreath that Maria is using as her office Christmas card image this year.
Then for the evening I moved back to my Monochrom and Luxochron lens for a visit to my friend Bill Beekman’s place for a tour of his Virginia Woolf first editions, letters and so on.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – We gave a dinner party for a young couple who we and our children are close to. The guests of honor called in sick at the last minute so we soldiered on with a family only party, sort of a Sunday family dinner, time shifted to today. I cooked a recipe that been running around the web for some time called the world’s best lasagna It’s good but I substituted my own frozen tomato sauce put up this summer out of the excesses of our garden, and of course made my own lasagna sheets. Baby V was in attendance at the dinner. Here she is:

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Most Sunday evenings we have a “family dinner” with our children, and now grandchild. We generally try to cook but sometimes resort to takeout. This presented an opportunity to catch up with my imagery of Victoria Campbell, now six weeks old, and known to me now on these pages as “Baby V”. Taken with my Leica Monochrom and Luxochron lens.

On this day last year: Gate.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year. It’s not commercial and is a lovely long weekend for family and friends. This year Alexander and Laura (and Baby V) celebrated it with Laura’s family so Maria, Francesca and I joined some friends who are just down the road a bit in here in Warren. I contributed the turkey to the festivities, never one of my favorite dishes, as well as some braised mushrooms and gravy. Here’s a Thanksgiving gallery.

On this day last year: A nice look up.
