MANHATTAN – Here’s a dog walker outside of the headquarters of the lather’s union. Still shooting with the Dallmeyer replica, stopped down a bit here for more modern rendering.

MANHATTAN – A modern spot with a legacy lens, my Dallmeyer replica, mounted on my Leica M11 Monochrom. Take a thoughtful look at this. Vintage character evidently is as much a factor of lens design as film.

MANHATTAN – I’m shooting today with a new lens: a Chinese replica of a Dallmeyer 2″ F1.5 lens from the 1930s. Dallmeyer was an English manufacturer of lenses, lenses that are valued for their creamy rendering. I had a disjointed day so I didn’t get around to shooting my picture until late. Here’s some construction at 1185 Park. I’m struggling getting focus right with this lens.  The replica lens’s rendering appears to be pretty close to what I might expect from a Dallmeyer.

KENT CONNECTICUT – We celebrated John’s birthday this evening. I’ve photographed blowing out candles many, many times but this is one of the better examples.
