BETHLEHEM CONNECTICUT – I stopped by Mark Mennin’s and Marcia DeSanctis’s house today to drop off a lasagna. Here’s some of Mark’s work at rest outside the house. I’m shooting with my Leica Q3 43, a backup camera – my beloved M11 Monochrom has gone off the Wetzlar Germany for some maintenance work; it gets heavy daily use so it occasionally needs attention. (I once owned a BMW M5 which turned out to be a shop bunny; the M11M appears to have common DNA in that respect.) Leica has been very good at getting the camera back in good working order quickly at no expense to me. But I miss it.

Looking back precisely three years to Westerly RI, late in the Covid epidemic. Day of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – Another shot looking down at a hosta. I did this better two weeks ago: September 3 Hosta. I should probablly stop shooting these.

Looking back exactly seven years to Warren Connecticut. This was taken with a Leica Summilux-M 24mm f/1.4 ASPH lens, which has 11 aperture blades and accordingly provides a 22 point sunstar. (I no longer own this lens.) Day 3259 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
WASHINGTON CONNECTICUT – Here’s a martini, ordered, consumed (but not by me) and photographed at the Waramaug Club. This is the second or third time that I’ve shot a martini close up in this project. The images was taken with my iPhone and the framing was a bit rough, so I used AI to recrop the image at the margins. Can you tell where?

Looking back ten years to September 14, 2015: I was in Tokyo on business with little time for photography so I snapped the Tokyo skyline from a window at the Hotel New Otani where I was staying. I lost track of where this was taken from so I uploaded the image the ChatGPT, which was able to identify the hotel (this corresponds to my faded recollection). Day 2162 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
WASHINGTON DEPOT, CONNECTICUT – We stopped by the green in front of Bryant Memorial Hall here to enjoy a concert sponsored by the Judy Black Memorial Park.

Looking back precisely eight years to September 13, 2017 in London. “Carrara Profiles” by Paul Vanstone was on loan to the Royal Botanic Gardens. Day 2892 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
THE BRONX, NEW YORK – I took the subway today to explore the Mott Haven neighborhood in The Bronx. I was attracted to the area by BBQ restaurant on Bruckner Boulevard, where I had lunch. This is the area where Sherman McCoy had his car problem in Tom Wolfe’s novel, Bonfire of the Vanities.
