MANHATTAN – A month ago I sent three Leica film cameras to be serviced by Youxin Ye. They arrived back today, so I’m running a role of Kodak T-Max 400 through each of them to test them. Here’s how it came out: for the Leica IIIg with a “radioactive” Summicron I loaded the film improperly so I got nothing. Today’s images are from the Leica M3 and the Dual Range Summicron. Here’s a sample image. It works fabulously.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – More work with the excellent Dual Range Summicron lens.  It has very good micro contrast, providing a 3d pop to images.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – I spent the day experimenting with legacy lenses on my newly-repatriated Leica M11M. Here’s a “bokeh” shot with a Dual Range Summicron from 1963. This is my new favorite lens.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Great news! Today my Leica M11 Monochrom arrived back from being serviced in Wetzlar. So I’m back to shooting native black and white. You may not notice the difference at web resolution, but it makes a huge difference to me in terms of the shooting experience and image quality.
