MANHATTAN – I’m shooting today with a new lens: a Chinese replica of a Dallmeyer 2″ F1.5 lens from the 1930s. Dallmeyer was an English manufacturer of lenses, lenses that are valued for their creamy rendering. I had a disjointed day so I didn’t get around to shooting my picture until late. Here’s some construction at 1185 Park. I’m struggling getting focus right with this lens. The replica lens’s rendering appears to be pretty close to what I might expect from a Dallmeyer.
