elliot – perceptive comments. This was shot at ISO 25,600 in very dim tungsten light: there was little image to work with. There were harsh light shadow transition in the three areas you noted, that I softened with a guassian blurred layer in Photoshop. I’ve pasted the unretouched photo below. I may have overworked this in post – this is not my best work.
Seems less like a photo than an illustration. No detail to the face. And the strange swaths of blur sliding down her right breast and on both cheeks — what exactly is going on here?
