NEW YORK NEW YORK – This morning I found myself on 11th Avenue with my Leica S medium format camera and a 35mm lens. I’ve been shooting this thing on and off for two weeks without changing the battery – it’s a real camel in terms of battery life. Here’s a reflection, three frames stitched in Photoshop.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – It’s St. Valentine’s Day. I walked across Central Park to shop for valentines gifts, carrying my Leica Monochrome and a 24mm Leica Summilux lens. I put a .9 neutral density filter on the lens permitting it to shoot in daylight wide open at f1.4, giving very narrow depth of field, but requiring exacting technique. Three examples.

NEW YORK NEW YORK. I love shooting Manhattan at night. My Leica Monochrom and a fast 24mm Summilux f1.4 lens let me produce very interesting night images working without a tripod. I spend a lot of time shooting straight up.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Another day of snowshoeing. Lovely light but the snow is less pristine and I find myself repeating yesterday. It would be nice to take a break but that’s not really an option in the photo-a-day world. Here’s something from my Leica S and 120 mm Summarit lens.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Well the blizzard really did arrive: two feet of snow and major winds. Remarkably we haven’t suffered any damage or power outage. By the afternoon it cleared (but still high winds) so Maria and I took the opportunity to snow shoe. All images taken with my Leica S medium format camera and a 35mm lens.
