Please don’t come to Florida again. Your photos are too good, and they make my little Tampa photo blog look weak in comparison. Plus, every day you travel means one less NYC photo I can enjoy. Seriously, the sea gull photo is excellent, as is all your work.

There is something special about the way you capture the quirkiness and the formal geometry of New York – neither of these things exist on a beach! Some of my favorite pictures are the ones at the top of your blog – gorgeous.

Thanks Mr Woody,
all of your photos are like short tutorials for the younger. Looking at that photo I’m desperately trying to imagine the original four frames and the way you captured them. Could that all finally replace, accepting certain limitations and consuming a little bit more time, a view camera or the bulky shift & tilt adaptors/lens of medium format…? I am wondering…

Terrific bio Woody; great read start to finish. Loved the included photography, and my side trip to discover Lucien Ciergue (turned out I had seen some of his work, just didn’t know the photographer), almost as much as the words. Your work in Europe with the Rollei is truly remarkable, btw. I’ll cast me vote for the memoir as well.

Your amazing eye and artist’s perspective make these pictures compelling. I love the pic of the New Yorker on the street. Since finding your website (through a friend of a friend on facebook) I have checked in frequently to see your beautiful take on New York and rural Connecticut. Inspiring, gorgeous. You clearly love it, and for me that is reason enough. Would be nice if more people saw them..!!

Your photographs make a perfect sense to me and they will be appreciated in the future much more that all that photoshopped crap that is forced upon us everywhere. And thank you for being persistent in this project. For example I failed at picture a day projects many times before, most often even before trying. “A vacant lot” looks like a perfect location for Bryan Peterson’s workshops. I went to one of them once and we spent several hours shooting at the place just like this. Got some interesting images.

love the pilot/steward picture, surprised they let you take it (perhaps done secretly with iPhone?)- great angle… any tips on improving quality of images shot with iPhone?
